Network Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to serve as the operational backbone of our global development and live studio environments. This mission-critical, hands-on role will design, maintain, and optimise our network infrastructure across core datacentres, live studios, offices, internal firewalls, and Wi Fi. Success is measured by reliability, security, and peak performance across our interconnected business.
Work model: Hybrid. Three days per week on site at our Eindhoven office to support mission-critical infrastructure, two days from home.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain: build, configure, and support core datacentre, office, and live studio network infrastructure including routers, firewalls, switches, and access points.
- Reliability: ensure high availability through redundancy, planned failover testing, and proactive monitoring solutions.
- Security: implement and enforce best practice controls including network segmentation, ACLs, firewalls, and IDS/IPS.
- Scalability: lead capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades to meet growth.
- Troubleshooting: diagnose and resolve complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 issues in multi-vendor environments using advanced diagnostic tools.
- Documentation: maintain clear designs, topology diagrams, and operational procedures for all network components.
- Virtualisation: provide robust network connectivity and support for VMware environments.
- Support: participate in an after-hours on-call rota and handle complex escalations.
Requirements
- 3 to 6 years of hands-on network engineering experience, ideally within a high availability datacentre environment.
- Expert understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies, routing protocols, VLANs, VRRP, STP, and QoS.
- Proven experience with OSPF, BGP, multicast, VPNs, including IPsec, DHCP, DNS, and NAT.
- Strong diagnostic skills with Wireshark, tcpdump, and NetFlow analysers.
- Familiarity with load balancing technologies such as HAProxy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Vendor certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent, such as JNCIP or PCNSE.
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto, MikroTik, or Ubiquiti.
- Basic scripting skills in Python or PowerShell for network automation.
- Knowledge of monitoring stacks such as Telegraf, InfluxDB, and Grafana.
- Experience setting up automation tools such as Ansible.
