Q&A: Progressive Live Jackpot with our CEO – Stephan van den Oetelaar

Progressive Live Jackpot Interview with Stakelogic CEO, Stephan Van Den Oetelaar

Stakelogic, unveils its latest innovation, Progressive Live Jackpot in an exclusive interview with Stephan van den Oetelaar

What motivated Stakelogic to develop this new jackpot system, especially after the success of the Spin To Win jackpot?

Stephan van den Oetelaar: In November 2022 the Spin-to-Win live jackpot feature was implemented on all Stakelogic jackpot games. Spin-to-Win was an instant success, as both the player count and the spin count on Stakelogic jackpot slots increased.

Progressive Live Jackpot is different in the way, that a new range of slot games will be developed for this new live jackpot feature. The gameplay of this new series of slot games is centered around the jackpot feature. This year, Stakelogic will release 40 Progressive Live Jackpot games.

The first Live Jackpot Game ‘Crazy Bulldog’ was released with Entain operator Betcity on 22 February 2024. The results exceeded all expectations. Betcity decided to enter into an exclusivity arrangement with Stakelogic, to have the first 10 Progressive Live Jackpot games on an exclusive basis.

How does the immersive gameplay mechanism of the Progressive Live Jackpot enhance the overall gaming experience for players?

Stephan van den Oetelaar: The new Progressive Live Jackpot games are designed around the live jackpot feature. For instance, the games will not have Super Wheel. Instead, the jackpot contribution will be in the range of 3.0% to 3.5% of the stake, which is higher than that of Spin-to-Win. Therefore the jackpot balances will run up faster. In addition, the hit rate for the Progressive Live Jackpot is much lower than Spin-to-Win. As a result of this, players will hit the jackpot more often. And as the Jackpot balances run up faster, more money is to be made with the Jackpot

Furthermore, the Progressive Live Jackpot studio has a different design than the Spin-to-Win studio, which will also contribute to the difference in player experience.

Could you walk us through the process players will experience when they encounter the Progressive Live Jackpot while playing a Stakelogic game?

Stephan van den Oetelaar: The Progressive Live Jackpot game show consists of two Money Wheels. The first money offers money prizes ranging from €50 to €1,000 and 1 segment provides access to the second money wheel.

The second Money Wheel, with 45 segments ‘Mini Jackpot’, 8 segments ‘Major Jackpot’ and 1 segment ‘Grand Jackpot’, will always lead to a jackpot win.

The worst thing that can happen to a player once entering into the Progressive Live Jackpot game show, is that he or she will win €50. Which is a more positive experience than with any other jackpot in the industry.

Foremost, Progressive Live Jackpot is not based on a Random Number Generator but on two Money Wheels that spin, streamed in real-time, in a studio. For the player, this is more transparent and entertaining.

How does the incorporation of live dealer studio elements into the Progressive Live Jackpot align with Stakelogic’s commitment to innovation and player engagement?

Stephan van den Oetelaar: Within Stakelogic, ‘innovation’ stands for ‘new and different’. Surprise the player with something new and make the player happy.

By combining a slot game with live casino technology, which we call hybrid technology, Stakelogic is able to offer the player a much more transparent jackpot experience. A money wheel is more transparent than a Random Number Generator. And the minimum pay-out of EUR 50, contributes to a better, more friendly, player experience.

Stakelogic’s hybrid technology also creates a different and more personal form of player engagement, as a live game presenter is part of the game concept.

What kind of player feedback or market research went into the development of the Progressive Live Jackpot, and how did that influence its design?

Stephan van den Oetelaar: First of all, Stakelogic is foremost a technology company. As a technology company, we are in continuous search of how we can use the technology available to us, to create new and different games or features.

Not all game concepts work-out and are developed as commercial products. New game concepts are always pitched to key clients first. Feedback from key operators in most cases leads to enhancements of the game concept or the commercial model.

For example, the feedback from Unibet was instrumental for the development and optimisation of Super Wheel. Betcity helped us to create and market Progressive Live Jackpot.

Once a game or feature is released, Stakelogic, together with its key operators, performs extensive data analysis. The player behaviour of tens of thousands of players is considered by performing critical data analysis. Key metrics such as hit rate, volatility, pop-ups or adjustments to the betting table, enable us to optimise player experience.

What are the potential benefits for casino operators in integrating Stakelogic’s Progressive Live Jackpot into their gaming offerings?

Stephan van den Oetelaar: Offering new and appealing games to players will lead to more traffic. More players will play your games meaning more spins and finally more revenue.

And once a game concept becomes popular, the question is no longer: ‘What will Progressive Live Jackpot games bring in addition to our current game offering?’. The question will be: ‘Can we afford not to have Progressive Live Jackpot games, as this is what players like to play?’

This innovative offering not only demonstrates Stakelogic’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of technology and entertainment but also ensures an enhanced gaming experience for players worldwide. As Stakelogic continues to lead with groundbreaking developments, the future of iGaming looks brighter than ever.
